San Francisco Bay Area Burmese Community
Fundraising Burmese Food Fair to help Water shortage crisis in Burma

Download flyer: Burmese  English

Unfortunately, many people in remote villages throughout Burma are suffering from a critical drinking water crisis caused by recent severe hot weather and climate change, which dried up many lakes and water reservoirs. This crisis is ongoing and requires short-term and long-term solutions for years to come.

You are cordially invited to our water donation fundraising food fair (to help the water shortage crisis in Burma) on Sunday, June 06, 2010 at Newark Pavilion, 6430 Thornton Ave. Newark, CA 94560 from 10am to 3:30 pm. Various authentic Burmese food will be available to purchase to help raise funds.

You may also send tax-deductible donation check payable SF Bay Area Burmese Community Water Donation to 4100 Cadiz Court, Fremont, CA 94536.

Even the smallest reflection of one’s generosity makes a big difference to those unfortunate people at their time of need. But please give as generously as you can; you will feel proud that you were able to help your Burmese brothers and sisters.

Let us create the rain they need, a rain of loving kindness and compassion that will fall on them and let them know we care.

We have made arrangements with Free Funeral Service Society in Burma (Yangon), so that all funds will be transferred directly to that organization. Free Funeral Service Society currently is leading the effort to help supply drinking water to these remote villages.

To learn more about how they are helping the people in Burma during the crisis, please refer to this recent interview with the founder of the Free Funeral Service Society: http://www.irrawaddy.org/article.php?art_id=18533&page=1

Please help in whatever way you can. If we don’t help the people in need, who will?
