Join Annual Run for Burma at San Francisco Marathon on July 29
Former political prisoners and activists to run with "Free All Political Prisoners in Burma" banners and signs.
This year again, 17 runners and activists including the former political prisoners from Burma, BADA members and supporters -- and youths from Burmese American Youth Democratic Alliance (BAYDA), will be running. Two are running half marathon (13 miles) and the rest are running 5K and progressive races with "Free All Political Prisoners in Burma" banners to raise awareness about the political prisoners in Burma.
Background:
In the acceptance speech for Novel Peace award last month, Daw Aung Suu Kyi highlighted the remaining political prisoners in Burma.

The City of Berkeley City Council passed the resolution asking for the freeing of all political prisoners in Burma on June 12th. Download
Here are the facts about this year action:
1. We are organizing the 5k (3.1 miles)
progressive marathon run with
"Free All Political Prisoners in Burma" Banners.
(Please Bring / wear anything you can highlight about Burma if you are
running and/or watching and supporting)

2. The 5K raise will start at 7:45 am at the Embarcadero and Mission near the ferry building in San Francisco.
3. Runners will meet a block away at Mission
and Steuart at 7:15 am
No booth this year, but come support us at the raise start/finish area
between 7-9 am.
