Former political prisoners and activists to run with "Free All Political Prisoners in Burma" banners and signs.
This year again, 17 runners and activists including the former political prisoners from Burma, BADA members and supporters -- and youths from Burmese American Youth Democratic Alliance (BAYDA), will be running. Two are running half marathon (13 miles) and the rest are running 5K and progressive races with "Free All Political Prisoners in Burma" banners to raise awareness about the political prisoners in Burma.
In the acceptance speech for Novel Peace award last month, Daw Aung Suu Kyi highlighted the remaining political prisoners in Burma.
